Ceramic Rods maintain the cutting edge but are not used for re-profiling the blade. If your knife is blunt, use either an electric or manual sharpener or diamond sharpening steel.

The ceramic rod is perfect for fine honing and removing any burrs along the cutting edge of your knife. Using a ceramic rod will give the blade optimal performance as you can maintain the knife’s edge.
