The unique olive wood grain gives our Savoyard knife a Mediterranean feel. A classic for those who love this characterful wood.
It offers an excellent cutting quality. The safety ring allows the user to work without any risks.
You can’t go wrong with an Opinel, simple design with good steel and great value. A combination that has worked for years and will carry on working for years and years.
Opinel knife blades are made using steels with a high carbon content, which is what makes it possible to achieve the excellent hardness after heat treatment, guaranteeing the good strength of the cutting edge, resistance to wear and easy sharpening.
They use Sandvik 12C27 modified stainless steel which is quite simply one of the best stainless steels on the market. It is anti-corrosive thanks to the addition of chrome and requires no special maintenance. Its carbon content of at least 0.40% gives an excellent cutting edge.
The blade locks using the Virobloc safety ring, which in addition to locking the blade in the open position for safety of use, now enables locking of the blade in the closed position for safety during carrying. Invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955, the Virobloc safety ring is fitted to all folding knives from the N° 06. Cut out of stainless steel, the Virobloc has two sections, one fixed and one sliding. In addition to locking the blade open (safety in use), it is now possible to lock the blade closed (safety in transport)
The mythical tree of the Mediterranean ! This hard wood has a yellow to orange appearance and has a dense and often tortuous veining. Soft to the touch it has a nice polish. The Opinel Yatagan blade, with its curved point and round profile, is effective, precise, elegant. The Yatagan shape is inspired by a traditional Turkish saber, the toe up. The blade is ground to an exclusive convex profile that ensures the strength of the blade and allows efficient regrinding.
The Opinel folding knife is an ideally sized backup or emergency pocket knife, perfect for all purposes – a true all rounder.
