Description
It all began with the 110 Folding Hunter. The 110 could be found on a lot of sailor’s belts in the Navy. One day, a couple of soldiers got into a fight and the 110 Folding Hunter was used. As a result, the captain issued a decree that knives carried could not have a blade length of a certain size. The 110 ended up being too long, so Buck Knives took the initiative and created the Ranger, a smaller version of the 110. The 112 is another traditional favorite.
This Buck 112 Ranger 50th Anniversary Limited Edition is a special edition of the classic Buck 112. It's a slightly smaller version of the Buck 110. The construction is the same as its big brother - a first-class 420HC blade with great sharpness retention, and a handle made from thick brass inlaid with stabilized wood.
This version of the Buck 112 is part of the 50th Anniversary Limited Edition series. The Buck 112 series has been around since 1972. This special edition has a shield in the handle in honour of this 50th anniversary. A must-have for any true enthusiast.
420HC steel this is Buck’s standard blade material because it approaches the wear resistance of high carbon alloys while delivering the corrosion resistance of chromium stainless steels. Add our exclusive heat-treat process and you have a very user-friendly combination of superior corrosion resistance with excellent strength for wear resistance and durability. You also have a blade that is easy to resharpen. For best performance we harden to a Rockwell hardness of 58HRC.
The crescent tip makes the blade thinner with a sharper point. This shape provides good control for detail work and cutting in tight places. It is also well suited for intentional punctures like new holes in your belt, etc. While the point of the blade is effective for detail work, it’s not as strong as the thicker points on drop points and skinners.
